水処理の計画
水処理を計画する場合の大まかな手順を図１に示して説明する。まず、上水・下水等では沈砂池で砂を除去し、スクリーンで夾雑物を除去する。次に。水中の固形分を分離除去する。固形分が粗大粒子である場合には、沈降分離あるいは浮上分離を採用する。溶解性物質が特殊な物質には膜分離を適用するが、通常、生分解性であるかどうかにより、処理法が異なる。
生分解性物質の場合には、汚濁物質の濃度は高い排水（BODおよそ1,000mg/L以上）には嫌気性生物法が採用され、濃度が低い排水には好気性生物法が採用される。嫌気性生物法では目標の水質が達成されないことが多く、後段に好気性生物法を採用することが多い。汚濁物質が、難生分解性の場合には、酸化、吸着、不溶性塩などの物理化学あるいは化学法により除去する。また、有機化合物の場合には高温高圧水やオゾンにより易生分解性中間体へ改質して生物処理する方法もある。一般に、処理コストは固液分離、生物処理、物理化学処理の順に高くなるので、この順に従って、処理計画を立てるのが一般的な手順である。
Water treatment planning
A rough procedure for planning water treatment will be described with reference to FIG. 1. First, for clean water and sewage, sand is removed in a sand basin and impurities are removed by a screen. next. Solids in water are separated and removed. When the solid content is coarse particles, sedimentation separation or floatation separation is adopted. Membrane separation is applied to substances with specially soluble substances, but the treatment method usually differs depending on whether or not the substance is biodegradable.
In the case of biodegradable substances, the anaerobic biological method is adopted for wastewater with a high concentration of pollutants (BOD approximately 1,000 mg/L or more), and the aerobic biological method is adopted for wastewater with a low concentration. The target water quality is often not achieved by the anaerobic biological method, and the aerobic biological method is often adopted later. If the pollutant is biodegradable, it is removed by physical chemistry or chemical methods such as oxidation, adsorption and insoluble salts. Further, in the case of an organic compound, there is also a method of modifying it into an easily biodegradable intermediate with high temperature and high pressure water or ozone and treating it biologically. Generally, the treatment cost increases in the order of solid-liquid separation, biological treatment, and physicochemical treatment, and it is a general procedure to make a treatment plan in this order.
